Hello! We are having our monthly meeting Tuesday Feb 24th at the Sugar Hill Church. We hope to see you there!
Ane Mulligan is teaching her wildly popular class titled:
Lies and Character Motivation–This will be taught over the next 3 months.
But it requires a little homework–write a brief back story on one of the characters you’d like to discuss. Ane will explain more on Tuesday night.
And remember to bring your monthly goals to the meeting.
We’re adding a special meeting because Carrie Turansky is in town and she’s coming to WORD!
Carrie is going to be speaking on editing.
The meeting will be Thursday June 5th at our normal meeting place, Sugar Hill United Methodist Church.
Can’t wait to see you there!!
ACFW North Georgia Chapter announces its first annual 1-2-3 Contest for unpublished writers. This is your chance to submit a 1-page query letter, a 2-page synopsis, and the first 3-pages of your manuscript. These are the items that will catch an agent’s or editor’s eye, so they need to be great. All entries will be judged by and receive critiques from agented or published authors. The finalists’ entries will be judged by a panel of agents and editors, who will also vote for the best first line among them. The 1-2-3 Contest opens June 1, 2014 and the deadline for entries is June 30, 2014 at 4:00 PM EDT.
The February WORD meeting will be held at Lifeway Mall of Georgia book store this month. It will be on Thursday, Feb 13th at 7:00. Our speakers are Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse. They will be signing books from 4-6 pm.
Again–no February meeting at the Sugar Hill United Methodist Church.
